Interested in volunteering with the Back to School Bash?
You’ve come to the right place!
What am I signing up for?
Saturday, July 20 8:15 am – 1 pm – We will not be pre-registering students this year. It will be a first come, first served event. Participants will receive shoes and backpacks. There are a few volunteer opportunities. Please fill out a new form for each individual. This helps us know how many people to expect. Descriptions of volunteer roles for Saturday are below.
Saturday, July 20 Volunteer Roles
Shoe-fitting – Shoe-fitters will interact the most with participants. You’ll work with the participant and/or parents to get a correct shoe size. We will also be offering to pray for students at this station.
Shoe-runners – Shoe-runners will work with shoe-fitters to retrieve appropriate sizes of shoes from boxes.
Outside hospitality – Experience has shown us that the parking lot can get full quite quickly. A line will form to get in the building so we will need volunteers to direct families in the parking lot, greet warmly, and show our love and hospitality to those who are coming to the event.
Inside hospitality – Inside the building, we’ll need to give families directions, instructions, and warm greetings. We will also need volunteers to oversee backpack pickup. Volunteers working indoors will be dispatched to areas as needed within the building.
Put me anywhere – If you are ready and willing to serve wherever needed, we are grateful. Some volunteers will have physical limitations, so it’s great for us to be able to float volunteers who are willing to fill in gaps as needed.
