2026 Lancaster County Back to School Bash
We invite you to partner with us in supporting local families through the 2026 Lancaster County Back to School Bash.
Although we live in a land of abundance, the reality for many in our own community is starkly different. Over half of the students in Lancaster County Schools live in poverty. In some elementary schools, that number exceeds 90%. For these families, daily choices often mean deciding between buying food, paying for medicine, putting gas in the car, or keeping the lights on. When school begins in late summer, basic supplies like notebooks, backpacks, and even shoes become luxuries many cannot afford.
That’s why churches, businesses, and community organizations from across the county come together each year to host the Back to School Bash at the Springdale Recreation Center in Lancaster. Our goal for 2026 is to serve 800 students from kindergarten through 12th grade, providing each with a new pair of shoes, a backpack, and essential school supplies.
It costs approximately $40 to equip one student. This year, we are focusing on monetary, tax-deductible donations so that we can purchase supplies in bulk and stretch every dollar to serve more children.
Pleasant Hill UMC, the organizing entity, is a United Methodist Church recognized under the IRS group ruling for nonprofit organizations. Our Tax Identification Number (TIN) is 57-0641980. For any questions or to request documentation, please contact us by email.
